This is an in-depth article tracing the history of black Americans in social nudism detailing both the efforts to include people of color into our nudist community and the not-so-great efforts made by some to exclude them. Mostly it appears to be less a matter of effort in either direction and more of a “That’s just the way it is” sort of thing. Lengthy and thorough, it paints a bleak picture of diversity which reflects some of the same problems that occur in society in general. Many questions are raised and few answers offered, but it’s a ‘must read’ for anyone interested in helping to make social nudism as diverse and all-inclusive as we claim it is. That should be all of us, right?
