At first blush, it seems only logical that the last place women might expect to find a self-help resource for improving self image would be the naturist culture. Besides the near-universal female experience of body image acceptance issues, women also suffer exposure anxieties as a result of the more stringent modesty standards imposed on them by the general culture. Women typically have fewer of the locker room experiences so common for most men. The mere thought of exposing her imperfect body among a group of potentially critical strangers for many women, reared in a predominantly sexist, objectifying and shame-based culture, would be their worst nightmare. Yet women able to summon the courage to bare all in the company of others in clothing-optional environments often make surprising discoveries.
