No swimsuits allowed: Getting steamy in Germany



The sign on the hotel spa door reads FKK Bereich [Free Body Culture], next to a picture of a swimsuit with a big red cross through it. Spa etiquette can vary drastically depending upon country and mixed, naked sauna sessions are not the only thing surprising when it comes to global sauna practices.

    I think it’s absolutely ok and normal to have this sort of etiquette in Germany regarding spa areas, especially saunas. If someone feels uncomfortable with that he should use a towel to cover up (which is still allowed anyway) or he should just stay away from these areas.
