Cub Scout troop mistakenly hikes onto nude beach

Nature hike got a whole new meaning when a San Diego Cub Scout troop wandered onto a nude beach recently.

The troop was hiking in Torrey Pines State Beach in California last month when they “encountered some individuals who were inappropriately dressed,” according to a statement from Karl Shelton, the camping director for a San Diego chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.

Local news reports identified the beach the troop had mistakenly ventured onto as Black’s Beach, a naturalist or nude beach located below the Torrey Pines bluffs.

  1. “Protect the youth” from what exactly? Was the water shark infested, and the writer left this out of the article?

Nudists “inappropriately dressed” on a nude beach that has been used for decades? Didn’t the Scout leaders know where they were going? Somebody had their head buried so firmly between their butt-cheeks that a glass belly-button wouldn’t have done them any good.

Oh well…typical prudo-response. They should have joined the nudists, stripped off their kit, and gone skinny-dipping too, but that would have raised a furor among the parents and community leaders. It would have taken the kids all of five minutes to be having the time of their lives. Another wonderful opportunity squandered by prudo-thinking.

Uniformed scouts on a nudist beach? Seems to me they were the ones “inappropriately” dressed!

Blame the scout leaders, they should have known. This destination has been there for years and used as a publicly nude recreation spot. Then the real insanity, they quickly ushered them (scouts) to another spot to protect the children. Seriously ??
