No solo ladies?

As @IbanSaram I caption and post naturist pictures on Twitter; besides my normal Twitter fare I post a “Thought of the Day” and a “#TeamNaturist” picture on a more or less daily basis. The images normally depict nude people either outdoors or doing run-of-the-mill things around the house and every once and a while I try to use an “artsy” image. Some of them are posed, some candid, but the people are almost always identifiable, i.e. you can see their faces or some identifiable mark like a tattoo.

Not a lot of those images – just a handful in fact – are of unaccompanied ladies and that has become the subject of a number of “direct messages” I’ve received recently. Aside from the very obvious reason (showcasing a relatively low number of clothesfree women reduces the feed’s attraction to people who are just looking for additions to their “wank banks”), there are other reasons:

  • It’s a question of “supply”. A significant number of the pictures I post on Twitter were sent to me by naturists on my followers’ list or by people in one of the naturist forums I belong to; since most of my followers and naturist friends are male, it follows that the pictures will be of males too. Furthermore, single naturist ladies are, sadly, a small subset of the nudist population; finding ladies who are willing to be captioned and posted au naturel is a considerably smaller subset.
  • There are arguably MILLIONS of pictures of naked women on Twitter ranging from very nice, artistic nudes and casual nudes to some rather graphic images that need no further description. Some of the former are captioned very nicely by other people posting on Twitter and I like to think I provide a nice balance.
  • Last but not least, I post pictures of couples, pictures taken at events like the WNBR, and of small groups of people on their own, too. For the record, I make a conscious effort to be as inclusive as possible. A visitor to my feed is just as likely to see a mixed sex pairing as a same sex one; likewise – and I have to admit I haven’t been as successful as I’d like to have been – I try to include people from all over the world.

I have to say that I really appreciate how you manage those things on Twitter. I am new to the clothes free life, still well under a year and many “firsts” to come. My introduction into this lifestyle was through social media, and so of course navigating all that, as you mentioned, is very tricky. There are tons of pictures of naked young women floating around out there usually for the purpose of causing arousal and such. That population of women tends to be fairly homogenous particularly in terms of age and size, possibly race.

And I have come across folks claiming to be lifestyle nudists who only post those kinds of images. Sometimes it’s not even them. At other times, it is. At any rate, I’ve kind of had enough of it. It’s like, “Oh look, another young lady arching her back as the statue of naturism.” It made me think that, as much as people say naturism isn’t about sex, that really at the end of the day it is for 99% of them. Like, honestly, I thought folks were just creeps waiting to be exposed.

One other thing I noticed is that when folks speak of the “beauty” of clothes free life, that term and similar ones are usually assigned to pictures of young thin women, not very diverse. “Beautiful” is hardly, if ever, assigned to men. That only makes me think that women are still objects and that there is no difference between the textile world and the clothes free world. It made me think that really everyone just wants to see young white naked women all day and claim “this is the beauty of naturist living.”

So, I say all that, because it’s really refreshing to see your posts. For me the land as simple refreshing reflections, indeed a good contrast to a lot of the other stuff out there. It makes me feel like the conversation is bigger than arching backs and pink nipples. It makes me feel like it’s actually a lifestyle, that there is a bigger conversation going on, and those shots seem like quick excerpts from any given moment on any given day.

Thank you for your contributions. I really need them, especially being new to all this. It has not been an easy go for me.

This is one of the most beautiful, eloquent, and thoughtful replies I’ve ever seen anywhere on the internet.
I am truly very grateful that you took the time to write it and let the world know how you, a “newbie nudist” lady, sees this subject.
      Nude greetings!
