Proposed law says no right to get drunk in nude bar

A proposed in MI would to ban nudity in establishments that serve alcohol. Michigan Nude Beach Advocates suggests Michiganders contact your Michigan legislator and object to the bill. 

Saying there’s no “constitutional protection for getting drunk in a nude bar,” state Sen. Rick Jones, R-Grand Ledge, announced in a statement that his Senate Judiciary Committee had passed his bill that would stop the expansion of alcohol service in full-nude strip clubs.

In 2007, Michigan’s 26-year-old ban on booze in full-nude clubs was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, but Jones said he checked with the Attorney General’s office and modeled his bill after laws in Grand Rapids and in North Carolina that “have been tested and found to be constitutional.”
