People encouraged to give naturism a try
Manawatu people are being encouraged to strip off and be at one with nature.
The New Zealand Naturist Federation is encouraging people to take their kit off, get out of their comfort zones and join groups of naturists for Go Natural Week.
Federation national president Wendy Lowe said from January 23 to February 1, people can head to their nearest naturist venue to try it for themselves.
Lowe has been a naturist for nine years. She said naturism was a holistic approach to healthy living, improving physical and mental health, boosting confidence and freedom in a safe environment.
“There is no pressure to undress – it is most important that you relax and have a good time.”
Lowe said most camps had a ‘no clothes in the swimming pool rule’ to encourage them to strip off and swim in confidence on the hot summer days.
