No nudity allowed on Tasmanian beach

Nude bathing not on at Seven Mile Beach, police say

TASMANIANS and tourists have been warned to keep their togs at beaches across the state as police investigate several complaints about nudists at Seven Mile Beach.

Tasmania Police today said it was illegal to swim or be in a public place without appropriate attire and patrols at Seven Mile Beach would be increased in response to the complaints.

People who swim or sunbake naked could be prosecuted, police said.
