Homeowners say nudists at Mazomanie Beach not the problem, other illegal activity caused DNR to shut it down
Friends of Mazo Beach is meeting with the DNR to address this decision, as well as working together with the The Naturist Society’s Naturist Action Committee and legal counsel. Contact FOMB for the latest and most accurate information regarding beach closure. Much needs to be done very quickly.”
Homeowner Alan Blumer has lived down the road from Mazo Beach since 1977. He says the nudists started showing up in the early 80’s, sometimes hundreds at a time.
“We’d see more than a hundred cars lined up on the road with license plates from states like Indiana, Minnesota and Illinois,” Blumer says.
He says it wasn’t the nudists causing these problems, it was others who started showing up a few years later.
“As far as so many people taking their clothes and going to lay on the beach, there’s nothing wrong with that,” Blumer explains. “As far as other people involved with the drugs and, we don’t mention the other things anymore. The sexual things.”
