successful 5k hosted by Naturist Foundation

Runners have a crack at the Naturist Foundation’s naked 5k race

Missed the marathon? Well, you’ve now also missed your first chance this year to run in the nuddy – but don’t worry, it’s just the first of a year of events at the Naturist Foundation’s estate between Swanley and Orpington.

A record 140 runners dared to bare at the Naturist Foundation’s first 5k run of the year on Sunday, May 15.

Members of local running clubs were welcomed alongside naturists who just like a casual jog as nature intended for the event on their 50-acre woodland estate at Brocken Hurst.

The overall winner finished in a very respectable 17 minutes and six seconds – no easy feat considering the runners had to contend with the bumpy off-road terrain course.

Bare Burro Nude 5k – my first nude resort experience

It was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The run began at 1030 and was a great way to start the day. By around 1130 the rain had come back so most people wandered inside or into the hot tub to soak. As a bit of background I have been going to nude beaches for a few years, however I had always gone alone. This was my first experience with social nudity and it felt strange at first but very quickly felt at ease. Sitting in the hot tub, everyone loved to chat and say hi, talk about the run or just shoot the shit. I felt more comfortable socially without my clothes than I do in normal society – I was describing it to a friend in that I would never be that social in any other hot tub. With the purchase of the race registration, a day pass to the resort was included and I thoroughly abused it – from hot tubbing to the sauna, went for a great nude hike in the foothills. I stayed clear until sundown. At the end of it, I felt more confident and open than I ever had in my life. And I know that must sound like hyperbole and a bit trite, but it was an incredible experience that I couldn’t recommend more highly to anyone, especially those hesitant about trying nudism for the first time.

What It’s Like To Race in the Bare Burro 5K Nude Run

Bare Burro 5K Nude Run at Olive Dell Nudist Ranch

The 7th annual Bare Burro 5K Nude Run will take place on April 10, 2016 at Olive Dell Nudist Ranch in Colton, California. From the event press release: “The Bare Burro run was started in 2010 and is now established as the premier nude running event in Southern California. More than 200 runners competed in 2015, running a challenging 5K course though the hills and hiking trails of the rustic Olive Dell Ranch, where the wild burros usually visible from the course inspired the punning name of the race.”

Below is a guest blog about what it’s like to run in the Bare Burro. Whether you’re an experienced nudie runner or new to naturism, this should be a fun spring event for those in SoCal! There is a discounted registration fee until April 1 and participation is limited to 300 people, so learn more and register now at www.olivedellranch.com.

Running in Circles-Naked

When I saw the announcement about the “Streak the Cove” 5K
run to be held on May 22, I first decided I wouldn’t do it because
we were planning to be in New Jersey at that time. But after I
thought about it for a while I decided to postpone our annual
northward migration and sign up. It would be my first road race
in 35 years and my first nude race ever. I just didn’t want to miss it!
I suppose all this requires some explanation. During the winter
I live with my wife, Susan, at Cypress Cove, a nudist resort
in Florida, and in the summer we live in a cabin at Sky Farm in
New Jersey.
