Has nudity on Byron’s beaches come to an end? – (via Echonetdaily)

This weekend’s Nude Olympics will go ahead at Belongil Beach as planned but a meeting of Byron Shire Council will consider revoking the beach’s clothing-optional status after a spate of reported sexual harassment and assault.

The nude came with the first wave of hippies as they picked up properties and tried to turn their hands to organic and biodynamic farming. While some succeeded, many decided that setting up a business or reforesting their property was perhaps a little easier. But the nude has become part of the culture of the area: from the 750 naked women who spelt out NO WAR in 2003 with their bodies, and the naked bike ride, to the Nude Ain’t Rude rallies – the first of which was hosted by Mandy Nolan

Nudity banned on town’s beaches (via Andy Mansell)

SAN PEDRO DEL PINATAR town hall has angered a national naturist group by banning nudity on all beaches within its municipality.

The ban is part of a raft of beach rules brought in for the summer, which also include fines for playing bat and ball on the beach and urinating in the sea, which are classed as causing a nuisance to other bathers.

The Spanish Naturism Federation plans to take legal action against the town hall for abuse of power.

It says nudism cannot be banned on naturist beaches without a State law being passed first.

He has slammed police officers for attending recent reports of naked people walking on Lincolnshire beaches as he says being naked on any beach is lawful.

“There is no such thing as a nudist beach,” said Peter.

Nudist beaches – within a 2 hour drive of Lincoln? (via Lincolnshire Live)

Temperatures have reached highs of 25 degrees in Lincolnshire in the past few days, with some folk deeming the weather even too hot to wear a swimsuit.

If you want to strip down to enjoy the warmer weather then there are a number of nudist and clothes-optional destinations across the UK – but Lincolnshire is home to only a couple.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the law says: “In the absence of any sexual context and in relation to nudity where the person has no intention to cause alarm or distress it will normally be appropriate to take no action unless members of the public were actually caused harassment, alarm or distress (as opposed to considering the likelihood of this).”
