wow poetics: wholly i am holy

For this week’s Women on Wednesday, poetry takes the stage, as is appropriate given that clothesfreelife.com is currently hosting the 4th annual Clothes Free Poetry Contest “The Body as Poetry” as well.

I offer a series of poems throughout the day today.

Wholly I am holy
every single breath I breathe
gives witness to the universe
that’s what I believe

Wholly I am holy
every finger, every toe
no matter what they preach at me
I already know

Wholly I am holy
every bone and every cell
my body’s all of heaven
the mind’s my only hell

Wholly, I am holy
and divine I’ve always been
to celebrate is gratitude
to doubt’s my only sin

Naturism / Nudism – may Catholics join?

Naturism / Nudism – may Catholics join?

AdamandeveWe know from the Gospels that Jesus himself and the Apostles felt no false shame in laying off their dress (see for instance John 21,7). Jesus and his followers must have washed themselves in the Jordan or other ponds, undressing as they did so. Also, people were baptised naked.

For a good Catholic nothing is more natural than being a good naturist.

Biblical Nudity – Nakedness and The Bible Book Review Biblical Nudity – The book “Nakedness and the Bible” does not claim to be a defense of naturism; it just claims to be an explanation of what the Bible says on both sides of this issue. For some time, people have used the Bible in an attempt to say that naturism is outside God’s law and should not be practiced by Christians. Various people within the nudist movement have praised the book including im-ok-naked.com.  Like them, I add my approval to this work.

Christian naturists are Christians found in most branches and denominations of Christianity who practice naturism or nudism. They find no conflict between the teachings of the Bible and living their lives and worshiping God without any clothing, believing that covering the body leads to its sexualization. Thus, the common notion that nudity and sexuality go hand-in-hand is seen as a worldly point of view. The Christian definition of the human body should be separate, distinct, and non-materialistic. If clothing truly controlled lust and immoral sexual activity, then these would not be occurring to any great extent.[1]
